In Loving Memory of PAR’s own Dr Pablo Eyzaguirre

Our beloved long-time friend and colleague Pablo Bernardo Eyzaguirre Gonzalez left us at 4:15 am on 5 June 2022 in his own home in Chile. A brilliant scientist, generous, full of humor and passion. A supporter for the needs and rights of local communities and national programs world-wide. Honored by The Society for Economic Botany for his decades of agricultural research, particularly on the intersection of nutrition and ethnobotany, he was a mentor, a colleague and a friend to so many of us. His departure leaves a great sadness in all our hearts. A dear colleague and friend, he will be sorely missed by the entire PAR community and beyond.

Pablo’s family asks that instead of sending flowers, to send a native tree or plant or to plant one in your own yard or garden, or to donate food or clothes to a public school experiencing social risks near you. You can do so here.

They will share a moment of remembrance with you at a virtual gathering this Sunday where we can celebrate his legacy.
